Description of the High-Pressure Lubricator HD

The drive is effected by means of the crankshaft (3), and this is transmitted to the leeding plunger (26), the distributing plunger (5) and the feed piston (27) through the fork (4). The distributing piston (5) (suction piston) sucks the oil and forces it to the dripper (16), as can be seen through the window and measured by means of a gauge glass it dripps off into a control-cup c separate for each point of lubrication. The oil leaving the control-cup c arrives at the feed piston by which it is forced through the sleeve valve (30) and the stop back valve (34) to the outlet. Regulation of the feed quantity is effected by turning the regulating screw (11). Turning the screw (11) in clockwise direction the amount of oil is increased where as counterclockwise adjustment gives a decreas of the oil quantity . Securing of the regulating screw (11) against unintentional turns is assured by means of a lock spring (13).


The apparatus should preferably by fitted at a place, where the machine and dripping of the oiler can most easily be inspected. The oil conduits should be as short as possible but it is advisable to use more piping if thereby the drip control is simplified. The pipe conduits between the lubricator and places of use are made ready for fitting and then blown through with compressed air or steam to clean them. Care must be taken to see that no obstructions are present in the conduits. Oil outlets not in use should never be tightly closed.

Attandance and Cleaning

If the oil-lubricator has remanined idle for a considerable time, drain off the oil and clean the pumps. All parts must be thoroughly cleaned with benzol or petroleum at least once a year. Oils containing tar or resin must not be used, as they clog the pump channels. Thick viscous oil must be pou- red in hand warm. Never remove the filling strainer when filling the oil container (housing).
